Have a great weekend everybody :)
Tanja - It's been a busy week for me with friends and family. Reading took a bit of a back seat. I am, however, enjoying the fall temps. I hope you find something good to cuddle up with and read :) For a list of books I've been reading, you can check out my Goodreads reading challenge page HERE

Kat - I did manage to get in a little bit of reading time this week.  Read a wonderful book called The Bookshop on the Corner that brought back some wonderful memories from my childhood when I used to love to go to the bookmobile when it was parked in our neighborhood.  I love books that trigger happy memories.  I am truly looking forward to the Fall...  it is my favorite time of year.  Cool temps, delicious food and life starts to wind down a little bit.  Which means more reading time...  duh!!  Happy Fall Y'all!!

By K.A Linde
All That Glitters Series

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer McQuiston continues her enchanting Seduction Diaries series as a bookish spinster and an unrepentant rogue unite to unmask a traitor.

Every girl dreams of a hero….
No one loves books more than Miss Mary Channing. Perhaps that’s why she’s reached the ripe old age of six-and-twenty without ever being kissed. Her future may be as bland as milk toast, but Mary is content to simply dream about the heroes and adventures she reads about in her books. That way she won’t end up with a villain instead.

But sometimes only a scoundrel will do.
When she unexpectedly finds herself in the arms of Geoffrey Westmore, London’s most notorious scoundrel, it feels a bit like a plot from one of her favorite novels. Suddenly, Mary understands why even the smartest heroines can fall prey to a handsome face. And Westmore’s is more handsome than most. But far worse than the damage to her reputation, the moment’s indiscretion uncovers an assassination plot that reaches to the highest levels of society and threatens the course of the entire country.

When a tight-laced miss and a scoundrel of epic proportions put their minds together, nothing can stand in their way. But unless they put their hearts together as well, a happy ending is anything but assured.

STROKED LONG by Meghan Quinn

We're so excited about the release of STROKED LONG by Meghan Quinn!

Follow Me (Corrupted Hearts #1) by Tiffany Snow

How to tell the difference between a Nerd and a Geek via the Google search…

“Compare their social skills. While they both have obsessive traits about their passions, they diverge when it comes to normal human interactions.

A geek has normal social skills, though they can be prone to being pretentious and long-winded, especially when the topic happens to land on their particular passion. Then, they may not let you go until they've explained exactly how this widget works, and the history of the team that created it.

A nerd is generally more introverted. They may know a great deal about exactly the same thing a geek specializes in, but getting them to talk about it can take some doing.”

So, in keeping with this “official” definition, the lovely and talented China Mack is a wonderful amalgam of both geek and nerd. This skinny computer Phenom has an overabundance of OCD and a very set schedule and order of doing things. From her morning routine to her take out preferences, she is a walking confusion of her own order.

Her world, however, is about to be turned into chaos. The man who she has been secretly crushing on, her boss, has asked China to work on a special project exclusively with him. How on earth can she pull off being professional when the tendency to get lost in her own world of thinking and awkwardness becomes embarrassingly obvious? Being a young (albeit smart) girl with limited social skills and a less than subtle grasp on social queues will wreak havoc on her already timid emotions.

And if that wasn’t enough, she has a very unexpected house guest and a new neighbor to deal with. Handling the unexpected isn’t an easy task for her, but watching her deal, understand, experiment, and grow? Well, that is pure magic. Mix in a ton of awkward hilarity and a constant chain of witty thoughts and complex inner dialogue, and you have one amazingly funny read.

As I said in the beginning, the lovely China is a wonderful mixture of GeekNerd. I have a feeling Follow Me will be a series people will be sharing, following, and talking about for quite a while.

Brilliant, quirky twenty-three-year-old China Mack is totally satisfied with her carefully ordered, data-driven life. A computer prodigy who landed a coveted programming job at the cutting-edge tech company Cysnet before even graduating from MIT, China is happiest when following her routine: shower before coffee, pizza only on Mondays, bedtime at ten thirty sharp.

But then things start to get a little…unpredictable.

First Jackson Cooper—Cysnet’s rich, gorgeous, genius CEO—assigns China to a dangerous and highly classified project for a government defense contractor. Her sixteen-year-old runaway niece suddenly arrives in town, begging to move in with China. And then there’s her sexy but oddly unsettling new neighbor, Clark…

Quickly the Cysnet assignment becomes disconcerting—and then downright scary—as key staffers turn up dead. China suspects she’s being followed and isn’t sure whom she can trust. For the first time ever, she’ll have to follow her instincts, rather than logic, if she’s going to survive.

KT Book Reviews Author Spotlight: Kate Meader

Who is Kate Meader?

Originally from Ireland, Kate cut her romance reader teeth on Maeve Binchy and Jilly Cooper novels, with some Mills & Boon thrown in for variety. Give her tales about brooding mill owners, oversexed equestrians, and men who can rock an apron or a fire hose, and she’s there. Now based in Chicago, she writes sexy contemporary romance with alpha heroes and strong heroines who can match their men quip for quip.

New Release!
SPARKING THE FIRE, the final book in the Hot in Chicago series about firefighting foster siblings. The Dempseys. This last entry is about sexy-stoic brooder, Wyatt Fox, and the one who got away, Molly Cade, Hollywood A-lister. Releases September 27, 2016.

The blurb:
Kate Meader’s blazing Hot in Chicago firefighter series has “everything you want in a romance” (RT Book Reviews, Top Pick)! The flames of desire burn out of control in this sexy third novel when ex-lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”
Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back to the big time and restore her self-respect. Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Co. 6, needs a low-key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. Especially when in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.
Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…

Q & A

When did you know writing was what you wanted/needed to do?

In late 2010, I found that I was stuck in a rut. I would come home, eat dinner, and settle in for a night of TV – every night. I started to wonder what I was missing and if this was how I wanted to go out! Like a lot of people, I suspected I had a book in me, so I did National Novel Writing Month that year. About 18 months later I found an agent, sold that first book as part of a three-book deal, and haven’t looked back.
Will we see any new works from you soon? What will they be?
I’m moving from fire to ice! My next series will be about a failing Chicago hockey franchise run my three half-sisters who are forced to work together by the terms of their estranged father’s will. A lot of sports series are hero-centric and I thought it would be fun to write one where the women run the show because they already own the heroes – financially - before the romances start. The guys will have to deal with female bosses, both in and out of the bedroom! There will be a prequel novella in March 2017, then the first full-length book will be released in Summer 2017. Read all about it here:
Favorite wine and favorite chocolate :)
Sauvignon blanc and Vosges.
Top five reads? (all time or current, your choice)
How about my favorite book boyfriends instead? YES
So many fictional boyfriends, so little time. Here are a few of my favorites, in no particular order (okay, I’d cut you to get with Hardy Cates):
a.  Rowdy Yates from Getting Rowdy by Lori Foster.

With his sketchy past, and his penchant for hitting first and asking questions later, Rowdy is a great protective alpha. And the cover for this book is perfection.

b.   Flynn from Willing Victim by Cara McKenna.

Construction worker-boxer with a taste for rough role-playing, and while we never get inside his head, McKenna lays it all out there. A Boston bruiser I wouldn’t mind meeting in a dark alley.

c.   Hardy Cates from Blue Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas.

Rich, Texan, from the wrong side of the tracks, and so caring of the heroine. LK writes the caretaker alpha so well, and Hardy is my favorite of her heroes.

d. Joey Miller from Collision Course by K.A. Mitchell.

This is an M/M romance and while some people probably prefer the brooding Aaron of this pairing, I love, love, love the manipulative, puppy-eyed, totally grounded Joey. A surfing social worker, he’s the perfect match for a guy who’s been screwed over by the social services system.

e.  Lord Vere from His at Night by Sherry Thomas.
He’s a secret agent posing as a society idiot! What’s not to love?
What’s the best way fans can reach out to you?
I can usually be found on Facebook or Twitter, or just shoot me an email from my website at
Will you be attending any signings or conventions? Where and when?
I have two on my schedule right now:
Chicago area signing with romance author Sonali Dev at Anderson’s Bookstore in Naperville, Illinois on September 29 at 7pm. Details here:
RT Booklovers Convention in Atlanta, GA, May 2-7. I’ll be attending the giant book fair on the Saturday during the convention.
Fun Facts about Kate:
  • I got married in a tenth century castle nestled in the hills of Florence, Italy.
  • I hate peanut butter, pretzels, and ketchup. These dislikes are enough to label me “un-American” by my husband.
  • I have degrees in law (useless), medieval history (not as useless), and library science (yay, using). P.S. Twelfth century nuns rock.
  • I didn’t write any fiction until well into my thirties, proving it is never too late to follow your dream.
  • I’m a dual citizen: Irish and American. When I became an American citizen, my husband played a prank on me that was 17 years in the making. One day, I’ll share that story but for now, it remains locked in the vault!

The Goal (Off-Campus #4) by Elle Kennedy

Stop it! Just stop it right now. I didn’t think that this series could get any better and it has! I don’t know whether it’s because of the writing style, the flow, or just the amazing characters in this series as a whole. Whatever the reason is, it’s magnificent.

The richness of Off-Campus is what keeps me coming back. The complexities of the people on the pages, the subtle nuances of emotions, and the believability of it all just adds up to an author who knows what she’s doing. I will forever be a fan of Elle Kennedy no matter what she writes.

Sabrina and John are phenomenal. The chemistry, the banter, the physical attraction… brilliantly played out. Heart wrenching and endearing. I would call them my all-time favorites in this series, but It would take away from the set up that brought us here to The Goal.

The write-up/blurb will tell you the gist, I will tell you the feel. It feels amazing to be loved this way. It should; always. Sabrina needs it, deserves it, and will learn to feel worthy of it.

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.
